Strengthening research in academic admissions

Altus Assessment is proud to announce the Alo Grant, an annual $100,000 USD research grant built to accelerate the creation of new research that will strengthen the admissions community.

The Alo Grant is investing in individuals or departments to initiate and complete a research project in one of three streams:

  • The General Admissions Fund (up to $40,000)
  • The Strategic Fund (up to $30,000)
  • The Diversity Fund (up to $30,000)

“Altus Assessments is on a mission to create a world served by exceptional professionals,” begins Kelly Dore, Co-Founder and VP Research at Altus. “The Alo Grant shows our proud commitment to fostering and celebrating innovation in admissions and recruitment in professions training.”

The grants are intended to support the principal researcher with the finances required to complete their research, each up to $10,000.

“Altus has always been a trailblazer in the academic admissions market,” says Rich Emrich, CEO at Altus. “Casper is our online situational judgement test (SJT) widely used globally by admissions teams, and our annual Admissions Summit brings our industry together in order to move it forward. Now with the Alo Grant, we will contribute financial assistance to promote important, innovative research within the academic admissions community.”

All grant applications will be reviewed by a panel made up of both Altus research professionals and external reviewers, and winners will be announced at the annual Admissions Summit between June 1-2, 2020 in Toronto, Canada.

More information on requirements and entry can be found on the website, www.alogrant.com. All entrants must submit by February 21, 2020.
